quick sub question

i dont want to have my sub wired to the amp as my 6x9s are and i like to hear the music not just thud thud bass. so if i run wires from the speaker wires on the HU to the sub, will i still get sound?

the simple answer is no.... buy a 2 channel or single channel amp, very cheap one olike 50 or so.... then tune the amplifier to give a lower volume.

if you wire it up to your normal speakers the impeadance will almost certainly blow your head unit, not to mention shuving trebble through a woofer can blow the voice coil, and it would just sound like youve dropped your speakers into a public toilet......

i would deffinatley avoid.

wire the 6x9s to the front channels direct, then use the back channels through an amp to power the sub, that way you can have the music or bass at the levels you want.

They are perfectly fine if installed properly, but they dont mix too well with a subwoofer. I'd rather have one or the other, not both :laugh:

id rather have Sub and some door components. All needed for all range of sounds.

As pete says they're not all that bad on there own! However i thought mine were great until i added two subs & some decent speakers up front

decided im sticking with my 6x9s, think they both 200watt each running on a 800watt amp so plenty of sound
