Today the council were doing emissions checks, nothing to do with the police, just environmental ppl! So I pulled in to get my car checked over. Guy took down some details and probed the car! I revved her up to 2500RPM an the test begun!

Here are the results:

I got two free airfreshners, a keyring and a pen advertising the campain to turn off ur engine when it doesnt need to be idling!

Guy was really friendly and was asking a few questions about the car and the MSC!!

They did a thing similar in london i was stopped by about 5 or so years ago. The K10 passed as well but they were trying to find cars they expected to fail. If you failed you got a fine and I believe you had to have a re test within x days. That was done by the local council as well.

could they do the k10? They are exempt from MOT emissions tests. Seems a bit unfair to me.

their arent exempt from mot emission tests,

they are exempt from cat emisson test if they are under a certain age which i think but not 100% is anything upto 1992 is non-cat test and anything above is with cat test

ah i get you, so the acceptable emission levels would be higher because of the lack of cat?

yeah it's a relaxed emission test, the fail point is higher.
