I changed my wheels to 15" but on bumps the micra when loaded with 5 people I hear them touch the wheel arch which is really disappointing! it is still on stock springs & shocks, is there any particulat shocks or springs I can change that would not let the wheels make contact with the arch even when 5 people loaded?

please let me know, cos this really put me off, I'm disappointed about the wheels as this way I can't have even 4 average people as I would still need to be cautious.. It's a 95' model so shocks & springs are still stock..

Ian, go to a standard height spring but heavier rating and change the shocks like nsm said.

It's not at all surprising that this is happening on standard springs...

I'd roll the rear guards as well - depends on the offset of your wheels but this is one common source of rubbing as they're quite obtrusive on the inside.

First of all I'd really like to thank you all guys for helping, I've been longing to be part of this all.

Could you please specify me something particular : brand , model - to go for which does fit my micra & does solve my weight problem.

I'm not intending to go for the most expensive, but I'd rather not stick to stock shocks & springs.

If I can buy any of these parts online it would be perfect, as locally it's easily to meet up some stupid guy showing off the most expensive shocks which wouldn't fit my micra.

I'm thinking also in cutting this part of the front badge marked in red & replacing it with a grille. what'd you all think about it?

Thanks all!

If sourcing the springs in Malta isn't easy, look out for similar vehicles that are slightly bigger/heavier, and see what their spring diameter/length is. Often done with 4WDs when part swaps are known, but it takes some time for the first person to figure out the details.

For the grille, instead of ruining a good standard part, you could mask the rest of the area off, and spray satin black the area you are thinking of cutting out.

Black hides it like it is a cutout hole, and if you want to return it to standard, you would only have to spray it white.

thanks for the help guys! I'll try to figure the spring issue out then with my mechanic.

Regarding the grille I'll consider spraying it then hoping it wouldn't show that it's just sprayed black.. As you mentioned, I wouldn't need to attach a grille behind the current part right ?

thanks every1!!
