Power around corners

My M-reg Micra, now about to pass 105k miles, is now behaving oddly.

It is fine on straights, but if I take a corner at any kind of speed, the power cuts out for a second or so before coming back in fine.

I have not changed the air filter or anything else since getting the car 2 years and 30,000 miles ago.

Any ideas?

loose battery cable?
could be the beginning of the dreaded throttle body problem!
sounds scary - but it isn't.

I wouldn't know if it's a leccy or mechanical fault, all I know is that it cuts out for a second or so after taking a corner. It is fine on straight roads, and also if I take a corner slowly (such as turning off).

Yup, that oil's got to look like watered down bovril after 30,000 :wow:.

Watered down bovrill would be okish colour for oil...
That stuff will look like un-refined crude oil, probably be as thick as well.

Dunno really, I've seen exhausted oil that goes really thin and then some like you say, a sort of thick brown jellyish texture. Either way, it ain't protecting the engine much .

Found the problem in the end - it was because I put FuelSave unleaded in. According to the RAC fora, older cars hate the stuff!
