piston skim how much

having my pistons skimmed and reground been thinking about having a 1mm taken off the top, what does everyone else think

hes charging me £10-15 a piston

the bloke whos doing it has made my head race prep'd for the micra

i daresay 1mm wont hurt, will probably only drop it from 9.5 to 9:1.
are they the 1.3 dished pistons ?
personally i would open up the combustion chambers
