Does anyone have any experience of the P0197 engine trouble code on their K13 MICRA? My 2012 Micra is throwing out this code on starting the car, so deleting it doesn't make the problem go way (no surprises here).
The exact text from my OBD2 reader is as follows: "P0197 Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Low".
I am assuming the "Low" part means low voltage reading, which in turn would mean high oil temperature. High oil temperature would be impossible as it triggers when I start the car from cold.
Could it be that I just need to replace the sensor, or is the issue more sinister? Any ideas gratefully received.
