Oil Catch Can..

hey guys:

oil catch cans.... ones with a breather filter on top is illegal?

is there a difference apart from the obvious, having a filer or not....

The filter let's it breath which I think is needed. Other wise it will just pressurize. There are ones out there that you can let drain back into the sump with A hole drilled but if it does not breath then this can pressurize the sump and this is less than ideal. Unless you are using oil etc I would leave it with the stock style setup.

took the tb off and intake manifold is drenched with oil.... think my bottom-end is giving up....

Will always have some oil deposits in there Kate. The stock setup is designed so the vapor and oil goes back into the engine and is burnt. So over the years it will leave oil all in the manifOld. Best bet if your worried is take it off and clean it all. Then refit and see how much is there in a week. Mine was exactly the same mate.

yeah it was cleaned when i did the head... its clean oil in there now. last time i changed the tb wasn't this much i think...
oh and when did you say you were gonna be in Melbourne?
