Newbie with steering issues!

Hi everyone,

New to the forum!!!

Just picked up a K11 1.0L 1995 with 28K on the clock without powersteering.

However, there is an issue with the steering, in so much that while on the move, it appears very "loose" in the straght ahead position, and yet if i try to turn into a junction or round a bend, it is VERY heavy!!

Tyres are quite new Michelin Energy, and has just passed its latest MOT (which the previous owner did) and a Nissan dealer.

Is this likely to be track rod end or worse still, steering rack?

Any help much appreciated!

Take it to your local garage if I was you bud. Get them to diagnose the fault and take it from there. Steering racks etc are on ebay and no great money.
Seems like you got a bit of a bargain there with that mileage, best of luck.

Yes, i have a reliable mechanic nearby so i will take it to him on the weekend to have a look. I know manual steering is heavier than PAS, but i certainly don't remember it being this heavy!

Car is 1.0L Mauritius, and is an absolute peach. It was too good to ignore, especially as my daughter will be learning to drive soon.

1 owner, FSH, totally immaculate interior and every MOT since new, garaged all of its life and also came with the original purchase invoice totalling £6895!!
