Nakamichi Headunits?

ok right ive searched and people on other forums seem to highly rate these headunits but why? these cost so much im interested to find out why and also is it only the ones ive been finding but are they all that ugly?

Don't bother. Nak have withdrawn from the UK, because of this you can get their latest h/u quite cheaply as this is surplus stock companies are holding. The reason they have withdrawn is because of the quality of their equipment is below par and the majority of their units have broken or have random unrepairable faults.

If you want a high end SQ unit look at Alpine (pre glide touch rubbish), Becker, Blaupunkt and Clarion.

i had a nakamichi was 5 years old and originally brought for 900 when i brought it it was still worth 600 and i paid 150 for it , it generated an earthing fault in my k11 and i was quoted the best part of 400 to repair it, sq is brilliant and you can hear the difference its just the cost to repair that hurts

Interesting.. A nakamichi headunit came with my Black ST. It was faulty too..

Nak's are amazing, some of the best, if not THE best SQ units around.....

However as already said, unfortunately the latest units are not very reliable.
