My micra seems to be guzzling petrol.

Seems to be doing about 20 to the gallon, have recently replaced the maf sensor with an ebay one and have heard that they might be causing the problem, also have removed the cat. any advice given gratefully received. Regards, Tom

hey tom, i'm guessing you've got a coil pack facelift facelift? i've heard nothing but bad stuff about these "ebay quality replacement mafs"

is it a bosch one? if not get one. if it is a bosch one then its faulty. too many members are having maf problems and these sellers should just stop selling them cus they're obviously garbage ! grr

Ive been getting good mpg since replacing the maf on my coilpack k11, i think it took a few hundred miles to improve though. How recently did you replace it?

about 300 miles ago, so will give it another week or so. bosch ones are virtually impossible to source without the full throttle body for about £450. cheers for the advice robb, I'll try it. Tom

Just spoken to bosch,they stopped making these maf sensors in 2005. bummer!!!!!

I'd guess at Lambda sensor or coolant temp sensor. I'm sure you can 'self-test' the Lambda sensor via the diagnostic plug?
