what are the rules for an MOT and having the rear seats stripped out

should the seat belts be in or out

im justst wondering as MOT is due soon and my car will be class as capable of holding 5 people??

any one shed any light

Seat belts should be out, I passed without rear seats or seat belts, just change your V5 so it's registered as a 2 seater.

If seats are out so must the seats belts, if seats are in so must the bealts be in.

As for V5, you're supposed to declare as being a 2 seater but never known an MOT'er to quibble over it.

this is totally hear say from a person who works for an insurance company, but having a 2seater declared can lower your insurance.

If you have the ability to carry 4 passengers, and you crash and it's declared your fault, there is a possible 4 people who can claim personal injuries from your insurance.

If you only have a 2 seaters, then there's only 1

i dont think it matters if its on your V5 or not. You don't hand it over to them in an MOT.

as said if theres no seats there can't be belts.

mine went through fine with the buckets in the front and nothing in the rear.

I passed recently with belts in place with no rear seats.

mine passed with no back seats and no back seat belts got bucket seats and 4 strap harness in and a full sound system in the back

took the belts out

it passed

also had rear lights on wi reflectors, im pleaased now!!
