micra management warning light

I hope someone can help,I have oct 2000 micra 1.0 with the management light permanently on,long story! 1st diagnosis was the pre cat lambda sensor nearest the engine and very dear at 113 quid! Nissan dealer only part as its the rare one only made for four months,light went out for a week then comes back on,2nd diagnosis is the throttle body(he thinks),the fault code reading was something like "low bank one or two, too lean" cant remember which bank now,car runs quite well and doesnt stall,maybe runs very slightly sluggish/hesitation from cold,could it be the 2nd post cat lambda? what does it do?/function?, does anyone know what happens or fault code/symptoms if it fails.Throttle body is horrendously expensive new and the rear lambda probably over a 100 quid,trouble is finding someone who can accurately diagnose it,Nissan charge 81 quid and i dont trust them and the local garage seems a "best guess" I possibly detected slight pinking last week on a very hot day up a steep hill under heavy load but the daft front pipe heat shield rattles a bit(removing next week)so could disguise any slight pinking,any advice most welcome,cheers Dave.

mine did the same when we had heavy rain
TB sems to be better on 2000 onwards
try lambda 2 make sure its in right etc etc
failing that, dissconect the battery for days it'll wipe the ecu.

hmmm just to let u know i paid 45ish quid or something about that for a o2sensor at trade price...ur getting ripped try askin a garage if they can source it 4 u

iv never heard of the throttle body throwing up a fault code to illuminate the check engine, id get yourself to a reputable garage, not a bumping one mate

Ta for comments and advice everyone,I did disconnect battery for 24 hours after fitting new lambda 1,worked for 1 week,light came back on but only at motorway speeds on a hot day,was ok round town and work and back,weird fault,I think I will try Lambda 2,as my car falls between July to November 2000 spec, Bosch and Ngk dont list front or rear Lambda according to Lambda specialist up Hull way and my local Andrew Page,the guts part of the Lambda seems the same its the connector block which is completley different,so will try a November 2000 on one and just join up the wires,cheaper than a TB ! seems to run to well to be a knackered TB,car has done 51000,I did try a 4 wire universal at first for Lambda 1,the engine hated it ! run awful,hence main dealer price misery,im just a bit concerned if the car is running a bit lean,given the fault code reading,I'm told Lambda 2 diagnoses what the first Lambda does,but I'm sure they do fail and bring on the light,I read on the net that the Bosch type TB on mine is a very common failure though and over twice as much as the earlier type,I had an 99 Ally sold to a friend,never missed a beat and over 60 k on original everything,thanks again for your comments chaps,Dave.
