hi, would like to ask for advice again; as an update, the 43 k micra I bought in January is doing well, I had a new gear change spring fitted and linkage shimmed and all the sloppy rattling has gone; however the transmission "howl" that I mentioned is still there, specifically, it chimes in around 50mph in top, and disappears around 70mph; putting clutch in gets rid of it so if u coast, no noise; no probs with gear change selection at all; there is a bit of noise through gear stick, esp if you hold it, but I had that on old micra; I keep seeing posts about a micra problem with a gearbox bearing and would be grateful for any thoughts cheers dave
