lost key

please help me!!! i only had one key for my nissan micra that's now been lost and i need a bit of technical info on what is required to get a new set

we think it might be a k11. the year is 98 and the model is a micra equation
it needs a key with a chip in it for the immobiliser
 
so its a k11 with NATS.

you need to go to the dealers if you have a NATS system fitted. but the problem you have is getting it there lol. i would give your local nissan dealer for advice
 
don't expect it to be cheap though. They wanted something around £60 to re-program the key to the ECU, and then they won't come out to do it, you need to get the car to them, they said they'd get it for £40, then they wanted more money for another set of keys....
 
sound advice chaps thanks very much. so if i can get the car to a nissan garage they should be able to do it then?

is there anywhere is should avoid going to ?

well thats the only place that can code your new key.so you dont have much choice tbh
