Lambda sensor

Hi Folks

Funny problem really , my k12 micra 2003 is hard to start but when i disconnect the lambda sensor on the front of the block it not only starts but seems to run much better without it, has anyone come across this before and is it an obvious fault with the sensor. Can the lambda sensor make it difficult to start a car ?
Thanks
John:doh:

Can you borrow a fault code reader John, a flakey lambda sensor should have thrown a code at some point? Where are you? Someone on here may be near you with one to lend :).

it may be a fault elsewhere tho ? and unplugging the lambda is forcing the ecu into limp mode (and running/starting better as a result)

Hi Frank

i changed the cts aswell , but dont really see limp mode, im convinced the lam sensor is playing up my plugs are black even after cleaning so the mixture must be rich
any ideas greatly appreciated
