K12 Micra Key Fob battery replacement

When I tried to replace the battery in my 20015 Key Fob I found I had to take it to the dealer as the key stopped working.

Apparently, just disconnecting the battery was enough to require reprogramming.

Anyone know how to just replace the battery without having to use a dealer?

Yes, I know. I just took old battery out and swapped new one on place. Fob started to work right away. This is with -06 160SR keyless entry. I didn't have any reason to visit at dealer.
