indicator problem...?

hi folks,

i have a 1.0 1989 micra, i have a problem with the indicators.

they sometimes work ok,but then they stick(dont flash,but stay lit)

if i turn the car off and on again,this sometimes solves the problem.

how can i fix this problem? i am a k10(and car novice,but want to learn...)

try changing the indicator relay, it's probably faulty.

indicator relay and flasher unit are same thing, i've never looked but i'd assume its in the drivers footwell with the other relays and fuses.

relays are small black boxes approx 1 inch x 1 inch big.

mine are still doing this very annoying it is too i must get round to changing the flasher unit wherever the hell it is, when i find out ill let you know

its up on the steering column mounting metal bracket thingy iirc lol

It will be the one that makes the ticking sound when the indicators are on.

ok, fool that i am i have made things worse. i removed flasher unit and got a replacement unit. however it was the wrong type...and seems to have blown other things...i think the choke may have been affected(not sure).cant look at it till wednesday.
now the old flasher unit doesn't work at all.hope its just fuses...

anyone any ideas on how i can claw my way out of the hole i dug for myself?

just check all the fuses get the right flasher unit and hope for the best!

was just a fuse! wont get flasher unit till wednesday...

where you getting the flasher relay from? i dont have time to goto my scrpapies and get one so i guess ill need to buy one else where

got one for about £7 from place beside my house. all sorted now! just have rear wiper to fix now.....
