idle speed

hi to my fellow members just completed a long journey in my micra super s 1.3 '95 model and realised that it is now idleing at 2000 revs/second! i could tell strait away from the noise that this is not normal (- i see it should be 700) what could be the problem here?

hi adele, i would check the fast idle waxstat is,nt stuck open (at the back of the t/b) then check the vacuum pipes, then the idle control valve (at the front of the t/b)

Hi frank thanks for the speedy reply. i have found a pic of the waxstat on this site and will have a general poke around there tomorrow in the day light.
