Hi, I bought a 2000 model Automatic 1.0 Micra S.
I have fixed a few issues, most significantly replacing the alternator as the old one stopped charging the battery, but I still have an issue I want to bounce off some people here as I was told this was the place to come!
Firstly, when starting from cold the engine fires up well, but occasionally idles fast for a few seconds then slows down to normal and there is a slight screech from the engine. After turning off after a drive, then REstarting the engine, often it will idle SLOW for a few seconds and sometimes I need to give it gas to get it running fine.
Whilst driving it is fine, but the engine warning light has come on 3 times whilst on long journeys for a few hours, then turned off.
I have read that my IACV could be clogged with carbon and thus affecting the idle. However all I have been told is 'clean it'. How do I get to it, and HOW do I clean it!? Is there a step by step list of instructions anyone can provide me with?
