How do the cams and followers get lubricated on the k11 engine..?

Hi again guys,I have a workshop manual (Haynes)Which i find as much good as a chocolate fireguard..Thay ar`nt like the old haynes which went further down into detail in my opinion.
Can anyone tell me how do the camshafts and cam followers get lubed in the k11 engine?.Is is through the camshaft lobes....On a spray bar?....Or get oiled from ports in the head?...Anyone know please???.

Also,Can anyone recommend a good place to insure the micra..I`m getting absolute stupid numbers from these insurance places..In most cases i can insure a BMW 325 cheaper..Whats going on..??.

Is there a downloadable Workshop Manual anywhere guys please???.
Thank you in advance guys...

the cam bearings are pressure fed from galeries kevo, the followers are just splash-fed
and yes there is a pdf download manual link on here somewhere :)

A Plan insured my 1.0l k11 inspiration for about £220 fully comp with no no-claims - that's less than a BMW with 60% no claims discount :D

Thank you Machinehead,I`ll give them a try ;)

Lowest price, one year fully comp motor insurance on the MSC ?
Drivers with a clean unblemished insurance record and and unmodified vehicles, may I suggest you get firm insurance quotes? Try Martin Lewis money saving expert.com instructions how to get the best quotes at:

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/car-insurance/

Follow the money saving expert guidelines closely such as describing employment as administrative or professional as possible without being misleading. Put older drivers on, partners and relatives with professional careers as additional named drivers, even if they almost never drive your vehicle.
Work through all four recommended comparison websites on mse above, to cover 90% of the market, to get the best quotes. Additionally, try the insurance brokers in your area and online who may specialise in getting competitive insurance for young drivers.
Never automatically renew existing insurance as you can always get a better lower price by repeating the above comparison websites procedure each year! Insurance companies always rip off existing customers with high prices for insurance automatic renewals. When you get the best price and take out the insurance, make sure you tell them not to automatically renew this policy next year, because they will try it on for next years auto renewal with a very high price!

Example

I paid £85 for one year fully comp, with max ncd, for myself, partner and my brother for my 1000cc 1998 micra . I did not even try cashbacks, voucher codes, and cash back credit cards! If you want to save money, it takes a little forethought, planning, time and perseverance, but it can be very rewarding with everything you do to make your hard earned cash go a lot further. Make it happen!

Good luck and let us know how you get on?

Thanks Daveyboy...Thats the price we have got down to so-far,Thought we would have been able to get a tad lower than this with our age and full no claims:(.

How the hell he managed this is beyond me.....

Follow the instructions on Martin Lewis website, money saving expert.com (MSE), to get near the lowest feasible insurance costs for each case.

A significant reduction was achieved when I put additional named drivers, with administrative careers not manual work, on my motor insurance. Improvise adapt and overcome the market so that the little guy can fight back against money grabbing big business exploiting and ripping people off.

Make it happen in everything you do! :)

Adding younger drivers, or adding a spouse, will not always make a saving, in fact can drive the premium up especially if the other named drivers are younger than you are, or are less experienced, or has any claims/convictions that have to be declared. If you are the oldest named driver to be insured in the first place this tactic often will back fire putting premiums up. OK if I was 20 and put my dad at 45, for example, who has nothing to declare then it might help but you need to check these options....

Also if any other driver has a medical condition reportable to DVLA (diabetes for example) the premium almost certainly go up regardless of age and driving history.

Good points that increase risk and therefore insurance costs that we are endeavouring to minimise and avoid.

That’s why, to save money, it takes forethought, planning, time and perseverance, but it can be very rewarding with everything you do to make your hard earned cash go a lot further.

Improvise adapt and overcome with forethought planning to minimise and eliminate where possible, additional risks to focus on reducing insurance costs and not increasing them.;)

Thanks guys with the help...But,I cannot get the insurance for the micra down below £121.18.. I find this expensive for a car thats only 1.0 ltr and both me and my wife have never had any accidents or convictions EVER...Also,This is for a car that will only cover 4000 mls a year and in a secure locked garage when not in use and both of us with full no claims discount.I`m 56 and she is 54...:(,I may still have to keep the mini and sell the micra yet:confused:

The only hope is that there might be a club insurance scheme or some such that might help, or you can try going through the internet site Quidco and get some cash-back.

Trouble is when the premium is getting that sort of low there isn’t much left in the money for Underwriters who take on the actual risk. When you add up the costs of setting up the policy, issuing policy documents and certificate, updating Motor Insurers Database, the costs of the office staff, and office itself with heating, a/c, lighting, computers/IT, etc, etc, plus the Governments insurance tax then you are left with next to nothing. Micra is a low group car, isn’t much lower except a Ford Ka which will cost more to buy in the first place and probably a load of rubbish, or rotten, or both! £121 is about £10 per month – I couldn’t get the bus to work for that. Someone who drinks or smokes (not saying you do) can find that much a month but cutting back. We moan about the cost of insurance I know but we have to have it…..

Thank you Guy`s for all the responces, I think what it is..Is i have been spoilt with running classic`s for years:(.. Like mentioned,My wife has the classic mini which cost £67.00 fully comp...I have the 1990 Vauxhall astra belmont 1600 sprint which is only £87.00 fully comp which is (I was quite shocked:eek:) The same insurance group as the 1.0 ltr Micra (Group 7 now). Getting insurance quotes for the micra which is almost the same price and in some cases over the price of both these cars put together was a tad daunting to say the least:confused:- Thanks again...;)
