Does anyone know why there is a adjustable plastic hook just above the passenger foot well right hand side? I personally cant find any use for it. And wonder if it had a point???

It's your handy shopping bag hook...for hanging the handle of your shopping bag from so it doesn't fall over.Does anyone know why there is a adjustable plastic hook just above the passenger foot well right hand side? I personally cant find any use for it. And wonder if it had a point???
Obviously Nissan intended the boot for other purposes lol.
Edit: I just double checked my manual and the hook is sited as a "convenience hook", so you're chinese doesn't stain your luxury velour mats becasuse it can't fall over as it's held upright by...the hook...conveniently ^_^
