hey when i rev my car to high revs then let go i rattles comming from the engine, any ideas what it might be?

» CMF Memberare you sure its from the engine? Absolutely not from exhaust, or anywhere else? some more info on the car might be helpful.
Edit: Without anymore details I can't really help you narrow it down other than the possibilities of either
a)worn valve gear
b)timing chain starting to give
c)camshaft
d)Incorrect valve clearances
e)Ancillary component fault (water pump, alternator, etc..)
f)Worn big-end bearings (regular heavy knocking, perhaps less under load)
g)Worn main bearings (rumbling and knocking, perhaps worsening under load)
h)piston slap (most noticeable when cold)
That's a lot of crap to check out but if there was more info we could probably narrow it down. Also I don't profess great knowledge in car mechanics so hopefully someone else can also help (come on micra.com) because anyone who has the haynes manual knows I just copy and pasted that info above.
