Hi new to forum need help

Has anyone ever come across this, last night wife went to use car, she started it as usual, it suddenly stopped within seconds and all electrics went, couldn't even lock doors, I had no time to look as was going to work. so next day my son went out to it and electrics were back, it started but he says it struggles to keep ticking over, it definitely lost electrics completely cos radio wants code, have had no time to look myself cos pitch dark by time i get in from work, any ideas anyone?, I thought it may have blown main fuse thingy i read about on here but now it has regained electrics itself cant have been that. Help Please !

battery terminal loose or corroded

Checked terminals both tight, further to this it seems that on switching on the lights a sidelight blew and it is looking like this may have caused the problem ??
