Here comes the BOOM!
The little wheel that you turn to stiffen the handbrake - can it be turned the opposite way to loosen? As I've tightened to much and have slight binding.

yes it can but you have to press a leaver somewhere in the machanism so it will turn backwards, if you force it it will break it.
how bad is it binding? try pulling the hand brake up and down, and stamping on the foot brake with the wheel nuts tightened up as that will square the shoes up and may slacken them off.

Yeah, I didn't think it was too bad when I spun the wheel it just seemed like a highspot but I drove from my place to Mansfield this morning and the drum is red hot. And I could feel the bind holding the car back if you will?
