Grinding Gearbox / Transmission

Still looking for a solution on this.

My Micra K11 1.3i had an awful grinding sound. This only happens IN GEAR, not when changing gear. It is now happening in all gears.

Car feels very smooth in all gears, until you rev it up a bit (obviously there is no rev counter on our cars but i'd say from mid rev range up)

If you change up at the recommended levels (1st 10mph, 2nd 15mph, 3rd 20mph, 4th 30mph and 5th 40mph, its FINE. If you rev 1st gear to say beyond 20mph, it grinds, and 2nd to 40mph etc..

It could be a number of things, but a step in the right direction would be good. Could it be the tranny, the gearbox, just fluids, or a bearing perhaps.

Any help on this would be good.

Sounds like layshaft is screwed that or knackard release bearing
Does it go quiet when you press the clutch pedal to the floor?

Thanks for the replies. Maybe the oil needs just needs to be changed. One of the guys in the office says he can do it for me.

What specific oil do I need for the gearbox. I read I need around 3 litres.

Also I want to do change all the fluids as these were not done on the last service, so what fluids should I change? Oil? Brake? Power Steering?

Thanks in advance.
