gearbox problem

hi all

changed the engine today and its still jacked up but when i put it in first gear i can still turn the wheels....

why would it be doing this?

is it because there is no compression in the engine so it allows the flywheel to spin with no drag?

Try turning both at the same time.

Yeah if both front wheels are lifted up off the ground, it could be just spinning the other wheel backwards, i.e. free-wheeling.

And if not make sure all the spark plugs are tight and the clutch is not over tight causing it to not engage.

ok, in gear cant move both wheels at the same time, in neutral i can...

i used a torque wrench to the specified torque settings in the manual for the flywheel and the clutch pressure plate
