Gear linkage

Hi, just picked up a 97 1.0S and the gear linkage appears to be loose.

Is it an easy job? This was a free car so dont really wanna spend cash on it! lol

Might just be the rubbers, have a look underneth and wiggle it about, if the rubbers look shot then get some new ones

it had a clutch last year, so I think its distured it!

I'm servicing my big mpv on saturday, so ill get them both in the air and check em lol :k11green:

If you can pull the gear stick up and down, or you feel there's excessive play, then yeah it's probably the rubbers. Pretty simple job to change them, but involves getting under the car

Is the exhaust in the way though?

well im giving it a good clean in and out tomorrow (first its had in years i recon)
