fitting springs

The rear ones are easy - just undo the shocks inside the boot (underneath the plastic cone shaped covers), and jack the car up - they should just pop straight out of the cups. The front ones, however, are a bit trickier. Because they are on proper suspension struts, you need to use sping clamps to compress the spring so you can undo the top of the strut to get the spring off. You have to be careful that the clamp doesn't slip though, as that could be potentially painful. And you don't want to undo the top of the strut without the clamp, as the spring is under a high load and can fire off with great force - at your car, your neighbours window, your face. I think there is a thread on here somewhere about changing springs. Martin (gtsnissanb) can also vouch for just how painful it is when a clamp slips...
