Fitting new sills, hard??

I took my mothers car into the garage today and was quoted £170 for the back part of the sill to be welded up because the jack went through the sill.

This price was for black

£400 painted red to match the rest of the car tbh i cant afford that and think he ripping me off when new sills are £36 off ebay

I would of thought replacing the whole sill would of been cheaper?? instead of spending a few hours plating it up?
any body ordered this and done put them on??

Rite just to add done a search of the forum and found that it still need to be welded up either way but i think that their price is so expensive.

I jus got two sills from Part Co at tenner a sill!

WIlsonian got his done at I think £150 a side with paint and that was for a full sill replacement, it is a hard jhob if you're not a good welder already, if you were you wouldn't have asked this question.

I can weld and I just gave up on mine, unless you have a car lift it wouldn't be easy, find a cheaper garage.
