usually the r-reg comes with a whole load of ??? ,but i think i may have cracked this one
millions to design
30 pence to expose its weakness of letting anything and everything into your engine
i found loads of grit sitting in corners after the filter and who would know what else

the filter and box arent that good and have 2-3 tiny holes under the box too.(block them)
at hard throttle i wonder if its deforming out of shape?

here is the filter housing leaving a nice gap

Good easy fix(Y), but do you have that metal square seat thingy, the thing that sits between the filter and the lid? I'd had presumed that its purpose was to squish the filter tight between the the airbox bottom and lid and would reduce it from moving? I don't get anything on the filtered side that shouldn't be there.

naaa
never seen that on a pre facelift
got a pic???

hmm you got me thinking now, I'm not sure if the cg's have it, but the ga16 airboxes definately do though, will have a look tomorrow. But it's basically a square ring with a lip that cups the lid and presses down on the rubber of the filter.
