Drove over a couple of massive potholes at a festival at the weekend, and since then the exhaust has been making more and more noise!
Had a look today and there is a hole in the rear of the backbox (other end to the tailpipe). Its pretty rusty and I can put my finger through it, assume it got shaken loose going over rough ground. Is there any harm in leaving it as it is? I know its an MOT fail due to the noise (which I quite like...rather juvenile I know
) but does it affect performance or fuel consumption?
MOT is due in a couple of months and I'd rather wait til then before spending too much money on it, in case they find other problems.
