AWESOME photos!

I bet it drives like a bag of **** with the springs chopped that much (or the coilovers wound down to the max) or the entire springs removed, but it certainly looks brilliant!!!

I did that to my first micra a million times by cutting more and more off the springs, until the actually middle of the under-car bottom'd out just driving up my driveway one time because it was way too low!!!

AWESOME PICS.

i apologise for the putting these pics in the wrong forum.

The car is on Ksport coilovers, it doesnt ride that bad, the coilovers are hard and it doesnt scrub surprisingly enough. imo this car needs some wide 14" bbs with stretched tyres.

Hit up Chris_F @ http://chrisfatseas.carbonmade.com/

He shots for HPI Magazine and Tunerzine.com very nice work!

Awesome pics. Was this tictac's replacement for the white one that was run into the boot? I only ask because the plates are the same as his old one.

I've been working on getting some steelies made up with a custom offset for mine so I can strech some skinny tyres on and have a nice offset with some steelies. Polished lip with black gloss centres was the plan..

Anyhow, good stuff.

yes is it TicTac's new car.

imo the steelies look quite cool considering they are well steelies.

who is doing the custom offset dens?

dens, every considered some wide with negative offset 14" bbs' rims or something? maybe off an old golf or jetta? I have seen some cheap rims on ebay that would look mint and a micra. unless custom steelies are hella cheap? how much would it be?

Custom ones aren't gonna be cheap, but I've been after that look for some time. Just if I go 14's like i'm after then i'll need new tyres too as i'm running 15's at the moment.

You can't run negative offset wheels on the micra and good luck finding BBS or similar meshies that aren't 4x114.3 and have an offset that sit right on FWD cars. They're around but they'd be hard to come by and wouldn't be cheap.

I like this a lot ... somehow the 5 door version seems a lot more well proportioned than the 3 door one.

Unfortunately I don't have funds for the micra ATM but if you want the ultimate in 13" wheels, you could go for a set of Rota RB 13x8's (if you can find a set off Ebay US) or if money was no problem, a set of SSR rims custom made to your specs:

http://www.upgrademotoring.com/wheels/ssr/mk-ii.htm

Unfortunately I blew my cash on a set of Work Equip 03 rims for my MX5 but I will be using a set of Gemini 13x6 centrelines on my micra when she gets on the road (one day) ... ^_^

To me, I believe personally that 14" and above is too big a wheel for a micra - it's not the size but the width that counts ... :)

ssr MkII or MkIII are hard as hell. id love to see them on a micra.

I used to own a set of 14x6 OEM BMW(BBS) rims in 4x100 with a +32 or +35 offset. I bought them super cheap, ran them on my civic for a week and sold them for a profit. i know they werent super low offset but a stock civic offset it +45 and isnt a stock mica offset +40?

again, i know they arent super wide or super low offset, they were cheap, light and imo would like nice on a micra (with correct tyre profile) and it has got to be better than a steelie?

Well i'd run 13's but the problem is that they don't fit over bigger brakes (and I tested it with the 13" steelie i've got).

14's i'm happy to go with but 15's are just on the limit of size for me. 8" wide are just too much for a micra. If youre just after dish/looks then sure, but they'll just be a pig otherwise. 14x6.5 with around +30 offset would be ideal imo.

I heartily agree - I also have a set of 14" BR alloys similar to what YOM had on his car so if they end up on the micra, I'd be upgrading to Pulsar brakes for sure.

13x8 would be overkill but is the right width for stretching tyres for looks.

That link re SSR rims is genuine - you can still order them however they will cost you your testicles plus a lot of waiting time. However, Glenn Kowta at Upgrade Motoring is pretty good service wise and is one of the few companies willing to import alloys from the States to Australia.

It actually works out cheaper for me to order rims through a US dealer than a local dealer here, even allowing for 15% import duty & GST.

The thing is - the 13's do just fit over the brakes from memory, but there is scrapage. I'm not using the ADV22 or whatever the SSS brakes are, but rather the ADV18's (1.6 N14 brakes). Dunno if there's much size difference where it might prevent 13's from fitting over them though.

Would really like some decent offset watanabe 13's, even if they're copies, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I keep an eye out on eBay generally for 4x100 wheels but there's very few interesting sets going on there..

wantanbes would be hard as hell dens! big brakes vs pretty wheels is like function over form. i am confident that one day you will find that perfect set. if i see something suitable, ill let you know )

I would get the 1.6 brakes which will be abit of an upgrade, and get onto someone who does alot of importing from Japan and tell them what you want.

The reason you don't see a good variety of 13-14inch wheels in Australia is there is little to no domand.

"I really like those wheels!! how did you do that?

hey mate, not my car but what the owner did was respray standard OEM steelies gloss black and buy some clip on stainless steel lips which he bought from a local auto shop for about $40 each i think.

definately dresses up the ol' steelie lol )

Im looking around for rims at the moment. What offset do micra's have? Also how wide a wheel will fit in the guards?
