duh weird headlight problem!!

hello peeps,

headlight comes on sometimes......driver's light.

also ,other times it has a different mood - both lights will be off,
then side lights ok, main beam ok, headlight stays OFF when normal night driving...

just now i am carrying adjustable spanner in the front of the car so that i can disconnect the battery when leaving the car - if it is on the mood where the headlight comes on on its own...

do cars like me, or what? why can't i just get normal problems with my cars??!!

anybody got any ideas?

No idea if its the same as a problem I had - I had issues with lights being temperamental, sometimes on, sometimes off, sometimes they would go off mid driving.
Had a fiddle round and found the issue to be in the fusebox under the bonnet on the bottom right (if looking as though youve just opened the bonnet) - one of those was loose.
Hope it helps in some way!

thanks gibbs, you mean the fusebox near my right knee when i'm driving?????
i thought there was just one for the headlights?
haynes book wasn't worth the 15 quid!!
