Driveshaft safety....

Recently noticed my n/s inner cv boot split because of a rotational grr grr sound... So replaced with a new boot and 're greased. Noise is still present.

Noise gets worse when under load. Ie slight changes to steering, passenger. Should I be worried? Or am I looking for another driveshaft...?

So it will be this that's faulty. Are they a shelf part?

If its more gr gr sound or click sound then you will need to change new cv joint kit. I did to mine before so it was worst noisy....

So I'm after a Driveshaft, rang up a specialist company supplying Driveshaft cv joints etc. Don't stock a 1.3 d/s. Are the pre 1.0 d/s same? Same number of splines?

the facelift shafts have the same splines as the 1.3 pre f/l jay, but some have a 3 legged spider inside (like your pic) and some have a 6 ball c/v.
pre f/l 1.0 are like k10 ones

Cheers frank. I know for a fact it's not outer because of it not clicking on full lock. There is slight play on the inner joint which I the sound I believe I'm hearing. :)

you sure its not the wheel bearing jay ? the inner joints tend to give twitchy steering and vibration, rather than a grinding noise

No playing in wheel frank. I get a twitchy feel. ( the steering wheel wanting to flick) the inner boot was split in half. Fitted new boot and 're greased. Noise went for a bit then came back.

Havnt looked underneath yet. Boot could of came off or I was too late to repair it.
