Dodgy Gearbox

Okay, so when ever I change into 2nd gear it is the biggest mission. I have to really put quite alot of force into it and there is a slight 'clonk' noise when it does goes it. 3rd gear is starting to get the same.

When the car warms up its not as bad but still isnt as it should be.

Is this the gearbox on its way out or the oil?

Thanks
Ryan

Where is the 'biting point' of the clutch? if its very low then could be badly adjusted cable.
If it is the g'box, try blipping the throttle a little as you are trying to push it into gear, my g'box has been like that for ages and thats how i have to change gear in 2nd and 3rd:)

I have trouble getting mine into 2nd, usually first thing when I start driving.

I'm hoping to service it this weekend, so when it's up on ramps I'm going to inspect the gear selector linkage, as I've posted about this problem before and was told it could be a universal joint.

You can't adjust the linkage, only take it apart, clean it, lube it and put it back together which I'll do if I have time.

The clonk might be the selector linkage hitting a heat-shield?
