CVT Gearbox Filter Change........?

Hi all. I have a 2001 K11 Micra 1.0L auto (cvt) its the Bosch coil pack version with 70k on the clock.

I've changed the automatic transmission fluid which was easy enough but I've noticed a black filter in the engine bay labeled CVT - it looks a bit like an engine oil filter.

Does this need changing along with the fluid or does it last the life of the engine? can't find the part on the internet or at eurocarparts so I'm guessing its a dealer only part which is always expensive......?

any opinions would be very welcome......thanks

Hi
Yes this filter should be changed, I got mine from Sussex autoparts 01323-848886. Part No REO-27-01 cost £47 + vat & P&P
But try other auto repair companies, make sure you ask for cvt filter for RE0F21A box.
Hope that helps.

thanks for that slowcoach will look on ebay...... as for the gearbox fluid change I only managed to extract 2 litres from it but as the capacity of the gearbox is 3.1 Litres its not too bad......don't know why Haynes are saying 5....?
