Ola,

My L Reg 1.3 Micra needs a new clutch as it's slipping like mad. Mr Clutch want 175 to replace it. I can see you can buy clutch kits online for around 40 but how hectic is a clutch to fit?? I'm guessing it's a bit job??

Can some enlighten me...??

You need to remove the gearbox, drive shafts, front wheels, possibly the battery / dizzy - depends how you do it, but its probably a good 1-3 hour job for an experienced person.

The haynes manual talks you through it if you are going to attempt it yourself!

not the easiest of jobs,

but roughly:

jack the car
axil stands
take off the front wheels
remove/undo suspention
pull out the drive shafts
put a trolly jack under the gearbox and engine
undo the bell housing
undo the mounts
drop the engine and box
slide the gearbox away from the engine making sure not to bend the prop
change clutch
reassemble

having said that u only need a bit of room to get g box back in and bolt it up me n silver si have done it without droppin the engine and it was easy enough
