Changing timing chain need cylinder head removal ???

Hello,
My name is Fred and I'm living in Paris, France. First, sorry for my English which is bad !!
Thank you for your this site it's a great place.
I'd like to know if i must remove the cylinder head for timing chain replacement, beacause it's what is written in my french workshop manual ...

My micra is a 1000L with 145Mkm and i've done the throttle body resoldering yesterday because the engine had strange idle .
I'll tell you if it's ok now ...

The answer seems to be No with this procedure but in my workshop manual they need cylinder head removal

Personally I would follow this procedure as its the official nissan one - The one nissan mechs use!

How many km's has your car travelled?

In fact the car has 145 000 kms
But the problem is that oil is coming out the front cover because i think the seal is not in good condition

If i put a new seal , it's time to change the timing chain , isn't it ??
