Changing Front Speakers

well after stopping my passenger door card from rattling, i thought i would do the same for my drivers side and when i looked at my speaker, it was a horrible grotty caked in **** you get the drift.

im looking at putting new speakers in my head unit supplies 45w max so i think around 20w rms should the speaker rms be higher than this

i was looking at this pair

rms is 70w, and mounting depth is 57mm (3mm more than it needs to be) can i get away with 3mm or will i need a baffle?

Hey there, since you will be over the mounting depth maximum, you'll need to do some DIY. Easiest thing to do would be to buy a different set of speakers that won't go over them. I got myself some Pioneer TS-G1711i. What head unit have you got btw? I run my speakers with a Pioneer DEH-2220UB.

or if your feeling a little more adventurous: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/speakers/component-systems.html you would need to find somewhere to put the tweeter but the way they sound will be much improved (sound stage i think they call it)
