car alarm kit

right im thinkin of gettin a car alarm kit for my beloved micra, after a few thefts in the area, and having my last car stolen, i decided that i kinda need one, specially as i have a few mods planned.

and im wondering if the central locking is the right one. i mean iv been lookin around and there are two types (according to the other listings on ebay) and it depends in how your door locks, or summat fwn iv actually confused my self so anyhelp would be appreciated!

that just puts central locking on to rear doors as there is no master solenoid in that pack best off getting the pro`s to do it mate

yeah there must be a place around your way that do it for you we have a few down here that can install and its like £100 iirc

plus insurance should go down a few quid... i say should

100 quid i dont really have that kind of money are there mainstreem shops that do it, like halfrauds? motorworld?

my clifford alarm / thatcham 1 immobiliser brought the insurance down £80 which was good, getting a company to fit an alarm is a good idea as its their fault it if doesnt work / keeps going off, my friends came with a warranty too

just incase i dont have enough for a pro to fit it, what does the master solinoid look like? i emaild the guy and asked him if it would fit on a k11 micra, he replied 'yes it would'.

that was is. to be honest im a bit dubious cause i dont know if he just wants the money off me :/

found this online http://www.meanmachines.biz/store/central-locking-solenoid-actuator-kit.html is cheaper but have no clue about central locking i notice you need to pay extra if you want remote though apparantly has 2 master and 2 slaves,
which i have no clue what it is....

the master solenoid is the same as the ones in the ebay link but should have 5 wires coming out of it, it has little switches in side so that when you open the drivers door with the master one it acivates the others doors.

the kit that sed5000 found, maplins sell for £24.99 incase you cant be bothered waiting for post, ive had the maplins kit in my car for 2.5 years and its not let me down.

just as andy said lol you need the master solenoid on the drivers door i managed to get a cobra cat 1 alarm fitted to my micra when i had it for 100 quid so shop about there will be a specialist near you that install them its just a case of shopping about
