Its a K11 Auto (2001)... and its 1.0

I was hoping you might be able to help... at first I was thinking 2.0 but cash is tight so I would like it if I could get this all done for under 1k including labour... NeX said in my other thread... that he picked up a 1.4?? I think it was for £200?? with 30k on it... I'd want something with low mileage too and I dont really know which one would be best... 1.3 or 1.4?

Anyhelp appreciated...

and I have no idea what else I need... gearbox?? Throttle body? ECU??

Cheeeeeeers

Good luck finding an engine. I got one through MSC but have seen others on Ebay before.

is is a coil pack engine?

it would be better to go 1.4 but cheaper to go 1.3

the 1.4 will probably need your loom modded.

one of the 1.4 engines i bought off ebay came from somwhere in london from a company that do jap engines from imports, so all the engines are jap spec with plastic cam covers :D

engine swapping is pretty easy, if you have a garage and an engine lift you can probably do it over a weekend depending on how good you are...

get a haynes manual first and read through it. you could save ALOT of cash if you can do it yourself ;)

try ilford scrap yards they haves tonnes of micras and marches all over the place!!

they are located near juniper lane i think they are called dial a spare or something.

I just mailed Matt Humpheries... how much did you say you got your 1.3 and 1.4 for again? What was the mileage on each? Im trying to build a list of what I will need... Gearbox? Throttle body? ECU??

Thanks...

i paid about £200 i think it was, for the 1.4 and it was under 30k

you will need:

preferably a 1.3 / 1.4 gear box though the 1.0 will fit
perferably a new clutch (might as well :))
a new fly wheel if it was an auto like mine
mine came without a throttle body or inlet manifold so one of those
new fluids for the engine,
and if you are going 1.4 you will probably need some of the 1.4 loom
ECU you will need (that was yoda speak ;))

that's about it,

thanks to nissan most stuff will line up and fit :)

or you could possibly just fit the 1.4 internals in the 1.0 but that would be alot of work

it depends on how good of a job you want to do. if it was me i'd build the engine up from scratch to make sure it was perfect... but that would cost a bomb and never get done lol

Nice one... and how much did all that total?? Ive already got a hold of some Almera brakes... and K&N induction kit o_O

Reckon I could get all the parts for under 1k? and may be labour? or are the parts going to total 1k and I'll be needing more for the labour... I guess labour would be 500-800??

i think you have a coilpack engine, so you'd be better off with the 1.4 (cga3). otherwise it would be a big head ache with the wiring. if you plan on keeping it auto, then it may be advisable to use an auto box from a 1.4. i would recomend using a 1.4 ecu aswell, but as type-r said, your 1.0 ecu will work (i personally use a 1.0 ecu with a 1.3 engine, so i know it works).
you should be able to get all parts needed for less than £500. and it shouldn't really cost any more than £800 in total - fitted. the auto box 1.4 will be expensive though! but ring round some garages for quotes.
hope this helps

sounds like I can keep the gbox but will lose a little off the top speed... the price for better acceleration.. wonder if it will last? I hope so!! is it a major loss off top speed??

Guys Ive PM'd still waitin for a reply... if you can help then let me know.. cheers...

quite sure the diameter of the pistons is larger on the 1.4.

nope the shape is different and the stroke but nissan kept the heads the same so it would be cheaper

yea you would be looking at about 1k

i paid £50 for a 1.4 and £75 for a 1.6 with free gearbox and TB,

but i was lucky.... you just have to keep your eyes out, check out some scrappies

Where are you ever gonna do more than 100mph?

i do more than 100mph every day :p

Ive just got hold of a sr20de engine... and Im keeping it safe for next year... Im going to complete the project in 2008 but for now the 1.0 will do me. Guess how much?? the mechanic said... he'd do it all for 3k which includes other things.... so that gives me time to get more parts etc. He has a Ford Escort mk3 engine spare and suggested it but i said nahhh...
