Brakes binding

Hi all,

New on here, just bought my Micra but after second day seems like the brakes are bindind. When I am trying to move off. Is this a common issue? What do I need to do to repair? Feels like it's the rear.

Jack up the car and find out which are binding. Then get back to us with the findings. Rears don't usually bind.

Had a check and found it to be the rear. Just wondering if I'd need to replace the shoes or would the handbrake need adjusting?

Is this a easy fix, as to adjust it from the handbrake lever or do I need to adjust it at the rear hub?

on the last one i did (last month) the inner cable was binding in the outer cable, where the plastic covering broken and letting water in.
so we soaked that bit with oil and it eventually free-ed off
my old super s had the same problem on both sides

Ok which part of the cable, where did you access the cable, (under the car?)

Any ideas how to access the cable? Is it a easy fix or a garage job?

near the back wheels mate

drum off job.
not that hard.
any cuts let water in to rust.
cable unbolt points.
left cable left side
right cable right side as they not same
