ABS only comes with the Super S, as far as i know. If it is a Super S with ABS, then the ABS check light MUST come on when you turn the key on. Otherwise you're probably not running with ABS, and/or something terrible could happen. If its a standard LX, then it wont have ABS.

On a further note, the ABS + 4 wheel discs of a Super S, gives it huge stopping power in a single use situation. (emergency braking, no track racing) I test my ABS once every 6 months on a wet road, and its totally amazing how quick you come to a halt. Much kudos to the Nissan engineers on that aspect.

Another thing you might wanna check is the bulb in the instrument cluster behind the ABS label. Just pays to be 100% sure when it comes to brakes.

Sorry but I don't quite understand your question?

If its just the REAR brake lights not working - well thats a little worrying. I'd start by replacing all the light bulbs. If they still dont work its time to take the car to a specialised electrician. There could be a broken wire between the brake light switch on the pedal and the rear lights.

If the brake lights dont come on it could be the stop light switch (it located about halfway up the brake pedal). Remove the wiring plugs going to it. Put a jump wire between the two wires, if the stop lights come on then the switch is buggered.

If you are talking about the rear brake lights, then like Yom said try new globes, if this doesn't fix it use a test light and check the brake light switch located under the dash on the brake pedal. If this is faulty replace, if not it might be best to take your car to an auto sparky.

Hi there,
I drive a K11 (1.0 litre GX model). The two rear brake lights don't work but the rear brake light located in the rear window does. I've checked bulbs and are ok. I've also checked rear light fuse found within main fuse console and thats ok.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

The lights require the whole system to be hooked up correctly. If your brake lights, blinkers or reverse lights are not working make sure the plastic housing is correctly mounted. You can find it inside the boot other side of the tail lights. It grounds to the chassis I figure so it creates the loop for the electrical system.

Push it back in and see if they work. Otherwise check globes.
