Rear Brake light problem.

Hi im having a little problem with my rear brakes light.

the right one has stopped working. at first i thought it was the bulb so i change the bulb.

but still it doesn't light up when i press the pedal. but it does light up when i put the headlamps on.

do you think its a rear brake switch problem? thanks.

by the way the left and middle bulb lights up when i press the pedal though.

it is easy to change by oneself or do i need a professional mechanic / electrician ?

thanks
kind regards

Check the connections for corrosion and good contact.. you may have water in a connection somewhere or so much corrosion that it is bridging two terminals, or lastly, a wire that is worn through and shorting out.

might sound silly but have you got the correct bulb?
as the brake lights the small nipple bits on the side of the bulb is slightly offset to each other.

the one on the left hand side lights up when i push the brake pedal .. well ill give this a try .. ill put that bulb which is on the left hand side into the right hand side slot .. and see the outcome but i do think i got the correct bulb tho .. will also check the nipple bits just in case
.
