Robert Ex. Club Member Jun 4, 2008 #1 Been told one of my front brakes is binding.. What causes it? And how do i fix it? Cheers
frank Club Member Jun 4, 2008 #2 rob i would strip the calipers and check the pistons first, if they clean up ok, then you just have to sand the rust off the slides and paint a bit of copperslip on. if the pistons are pitted, they be scrap :grinning:

OP OP Robert Ex. Club Member Jun 4, 2008 #3 So what am i looking for? Just that they move forwards and backwards freely? How would i check that?
frank Club Member Jun 4, 2008 #4 rob you need to take them off really, and pull the rubber cover back to check the pistons
OP OP Robert Ex. Club Member Jun 4, 2008 #5 alright, then what am i looking for with the pistons? Should i really be doing this myself? Lol.
frank Club Member Jun 4, 2008 #6 rob yeh, you,ll pi## it, they should be shiny (chrome or s/steel), and should push back ok (with a bit of force)
