"Bank" Credit card scam!!

Watch out chaps/and ladys theres a newish scam where a guy will phone you up and say its your bank (they know what ever you have etc) and say there is a little glitch with there systems and that you should give them your car details and confirm address etc so they can verify them.. someone I know had it done to them by "Lloyds" and then recieved a fake Freemans-littlewoods letter (if you have just had the little woods catalogue or freemans etc) they say they that their a debt collection company. The scamming B4574RD5 run up £890 grr

Anyone who gives out all their details to some random who phones up almost deserves to get stung.

What's more likely is that this is actually a pretty old scam whereby they call and say they are your bank checking on some dodgy transactions that have happened on your account. They then proceed to tell you all your card details because they already have them. They then ask you to confirm you still have your card by telling them just the CVV digits off the back - this is actually the bit they don't have and the whole reason for the call in the first place. Those digits aren't recorded anywhere when you make a transaction which is why they don't have them - once they have it's party time for them.
