Ball joint gaiter

Noticed one of my ball joint gaiters is split, not really noticeable, I only found out after my finger got covered in grease!

MOT on Saturday and I need this fixed well enough for then!

Any ideas?

Going to see if Motor Parts Direct have universal ones.

What size should I need at least?

Universal ones are normally held on with two small cable ties, top and bottom of the gaiter. Not sure what size and if they sell them individually

Yep!

I didn't feel any play in the joint, just a split gaiter so not all bad. Sigh.

Yes, the mot repairs for split gaiter I do at work are universal. Normally the ball joint "squashes" the cover anyway

Mot wording I believe now for split gaiters is "gaiter split no longer prevents the ingress of dirt"

I bought universal cv gaiter for my another Micra (it was cv split ) it was fine cos mot passed. (other uncle bought it as well so he was useless. Do you know why? He think it was too big so he cut it like 2 inch down. He failed his mot loool so he replace new one afterward.

Plus they are normal sizes as well

the pre-facelift 1.0 has a smaller c/v eh skymera, and the universal ones are usually too baggy

Bought some now, small hole has a 12mm diameter and bottom hole has a 25mm diameter. Looks like they'll fit ok

After a lot of swearing the bottom clips weren't securing the gaiter. Busted out a small zip tie.

driven 40miles and the gaiter is still secure.

Job done.
