airbag help

hi lads and lasses and people wiv glasses

HELP PLEASE
right am changing me steering wheel but what about the air bag i read some where that your car can fail its test if the airbag light is on

any way around this???

never seen it done on a micra but i have seen a resistor used across the terminals on other cars, it has to give the same restance as the airbag so it would need testing with a multi meter then the correct resitor purchased from maplin etc...

Remove the airbag bulbs? :wasntme:

If you are putting a wheel on without an airbag then that would be the easiest thing to do - just remove the shroud from the dials, unscrew the dials from the mounts, and take out the bulbs on the back (airbag light has 2 LEDs going into one bulbholder)

they are not bulbs they are L.e.d's a bit of a pain to remove .

as butta says using a 4 ohm resistor will work as we did this on rich's

On my pre-facelift you could just take them out of the hole and disconnect the two wires connected to the circuitboard of the dials
