A NOISE

well after driving around tonight a strange noise seemed to appear fom my car. Not entirely sure where it is coming from, but never the less it doesnt sound good. Its like a scraping/grinding noise, gets louder as the revs increase. seems like its coming from the underside of the gear stick but as i said not entirely sure as i can only hear it when im driving. If i drop the clutch the noise stops. Hopefully its sumthing simple that can be sorted easily. any help is much appreciated.

possibly a new gearbox... same happened to me few months back but only in 1st, 3rd and 5th... when clutch is down sound went...

new box sorted it..

not 100% sure tho, ask garage dude for opinion...

simple option would be thrust bearing

worst case senario - gearbox
