Hello!

I've just bought a 1.3 super s cheap ahem £100..

I got this as a project, looking at turbo power!

Its currently running 78 bhp "apparently"
with a T25 turbo alot of time and effort I estimate 130 bhp!?
will also add new exhaust + induction system etc..

I see a few of you guys are in the process of doing this? or have done this?

What was your over all cost?
and power :p
cant forget the power!

Any micra parts prone to breaking with all this extra power?

cheers!

you can pull off a turbo convertion for £2000 but its pointless because it will distroy your car. if you are spending under £5000 then you are likly to run into problems.

you will need to uprate the internals, if its done properly then you shouldn't have any problems but if you skimp on things like pistons etc then you will damage your car.

good luck, let us know how you get on :D

i had 1 bar on mine with spacer plate .... 174 bhp i was told from previous owner

i now have 9psi 2mm spacer n got 140 a fly... 118 at wheels :D

its always best to dish the pistons and lower the compression,

like alienfish said 8 boost is fine but you won't be able to go much further without shortening the life span of your engine.

remember that you are forcing your engine past what it was designed for so you need to re enforce it appropriatly...

ive seen a 1.3 n/a running 130bhp ;) i forget who's it was though it was a few years back now.

thats was 130 at the fly btw ;)

100bhp/Litre should be the least anyone would accept if going for serious NA tuning, a moderate turbo would get about the same if it was a simple and non stressful one.

so wat will my 998cc micra be doing then as i bought 'the legend' turbo conversion off him and he has a t2 turbo!

also i am doing everything properly i.e taking ### to proffesinals for it ti be set up and aslo using the 2mm spacer!

so wat u rekon myne will be running at?

you should be hitting 100bhp after a remap for a 1.0 turbo with a t2 i imagine.

see if you can change the t2 for a t25 on mid boost, does the t2 flange accomodate a t25?

you should change to a 1.3 way before the turbo friend..

good point mentioned above.

a cg13 with fast road cams, exhaust system, weight reduction and remap will have a turbo 1.0 all day long!!

i reckon a cg13 with full exhaust system n weight reduction will have a cg10 turbo!!

not really, the forced CG10 will have a significant amount more torque than an N/A CG13.

100bhp turbo vs 100bhp N/A

the N/A Car would have no chance

I should be around the 100bhp/tonne mark with Mine with the mods now.... -NA- he he...

Surely more? The ST has about 250bhp/tonne.

Umm! Its widely accepted that NA cars need LESS power than TURBO cars to be faster on typical track conditions.

The instant response of NA gives it the edge. However 200bhp from a 1.0 turbo is totally possible, with much better relaibility of an extremely tuned 10,000rpm 1.3.

I understand wat u r all saying but i just fancy havng a 1 litr turbo and then if i feel like it i will do the 1.3 conversion!

u gota understand that wer i live (north conrwall) seeing a turbo car is like seeing santa flying through the air on xmas nite!

and especially a turbo micra,lol.

and plus i chose the 1 litre cus i dnt want to go too big too soon

its up to you whether you turbo a 1.0L or a 1.3......when uve finished with the 1.0L im sure you could add it to a 1.3 after :glance:

(where abouts in north cornwall are you??....im in truro fwn )

micra.jas.....where did you get your 2mm spacer from?....cos i realy need one.....bell me on msn if ya like...

The spaces are a BAD IDEA, and a Bodge. Say good bye to your cam timing. Get a decent headgasket get it set up correclty use decent fuel and youll run moderate power fine.

hmm... well thats put an onion in the ointment.... cis every other k11 turbo i have seen (apart from your buolds) have had a spacer...... just to lower the comression.... i wouldnt have thaught that it would do much to the timing...after all the timing wont change..... just the space between the top of the piston and the combustion chamber.... this of course is being now filled with a higher charge of air and fuel..... so i cant see where the timing would change.......

after all....if its good enough for the 900bhp Rayland Escort cosworth.... its good enough for me...
